Bobbyn Bouie competed at Will Rogers Downs in Claremore, Oklahoma this spring. In four starts he finished fifth, forth, second and his final outing was a very disappointing seventh when he was struck in the chest with a thrown shoe. The impact left a small cut which caused Bouie to bobble and he strained an ankle. He has completely recovered from this minor injury and is looking forward to his next race.
Bouie and stablemate One Tuff Lil'Dude breezed three furlongs together on June 7th, turning in a good time of 37.4.
With summer upon us, we are readying several young horses for competition at Louisiana Downs. Kissame Breeze, Zarbslildiamond and Zarb's Thunder Boy will be making their racing debuts very soon.
One Tuff Lil' Dude, who suffered from severe anxiety issues last year, is training very well this year and is expected to make his first start of the season on June 21 at Louisiana Downs.
We have a new addition to the barn with Nereus, a five year old gray gelding. This outstanding fellow has 7 wins from 25 starts with 7 seconds and 6 thirds with earnings of $185,000.
Traditionally bowed tendons had one course of treatment, which was to blister the injured tendon, turn the horse out for a year and just keep your fingers crossed that it healed. Recent advances in treatment now include surgery, which is expensive. Sharon has developed a course of treatment for bowed tendons that involves plenty of hands on therapy with controlled, daily exercise to rebuild the tendon and reduce scar tissue development. Over the past few years Sharon has applied her treatment to a handful of horses with a 100% success rate. Every horse she treated was back at the races within 4 -6 months. Strike Terror was the first horse she applied her method to. He returned to the races in only three months and went on to win two and finished in the money at every distance from 4 1/2 furlongs to a mile and a sixteenth, while competing at three different tracks. Not only have the tendons healed but scar tissue is so minimal that the tendons look like they had never been injured. If you have a horse with a bow and would like to see it return to the races, give Sharon a call! What have you got to lose? This treatment also works very well on horses that have shin-bucked or have chronic sore shins.

Congratulations to Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird and all of his connections. This horse ran an amazing race and was handled perfectly by his pilot, Calvin Borel, one of Louisiana's own!
Mine That Bird finished his Triple Crown campaign with a second in the Preakness Stakes and a third in the Belmont Stakes. This little gelding is an awesome athlete and should do great things later this summer.
